Totally Tubers Shipping and Return Policy

 

At Totally Tubers  Farm, we are committed to providing high-quality, viable dahlia tubers that have been carefully inspected, correctly labeled, and photographed prior to shipment. Our tubers are packaged with premium materials designed to provide ventilation, cushioning against vibration, and protection under normal shipping conditions.

 

Buyer Responsibilities

As a purchaser of live plant material, it is your responsibility to:

  • Fully understand your local USDA **growing zone**, soil conditions, planting timeline, and climate before ordering.

  • Monitor weather forecasts during the expected shipping and delivery period.

  • Select appropriate shipping options, including optional add-ons such as heat packs (for cold weather) or insulation/lights and water vessels (for extended transit or extreme conditions), which are available at checkout and often necessary for successful delivery.

  • Provide an accurate delivery address (no PO Boxes) and ensure someone is available to receive the package promptly or retrieve it immediately upon delivery.

 

Shipping

Totally Tubers ships tubers during appropriate seasonal windows to minimize risk, but we cannot control carrier handling, delays, or weather events once the package leaves our facility.

 

We are not responsible for any damage, loss, or non-viability resulting from:

  • Delays, misdirection, poor handling, or extreme temperatures during transit.

  • Packages left unattended, refused, returned, or delivered to an incorrect address.

  • Adverse weather conditions (heat, cold, or freezing) en route or post-delivery.

 

Shipping Insurance (Highly Recommended)

Optional shipping insurance is available at checkout and strongly encouraged, especially for orders shipped to areas with extreme or unpredictable weather.

 

  • Insurance covers only the cost of replacing the tubers with like or similar varieties (subject to availability).

  • Shipping fees, add-ons, or any other costs are not covered or refunded.

  • In the event of a valid claim (e.g., proven loss or damage in transit), replacement will be issued; when no suitable replacement is available. Store credit or refund will be provided at Totally Tubers discretion. 

  • Customers are responsible for promptly notifying us and providing required documentation (including clear photos) within 24 hours of delivery.

 

Important Note on No Insurance:

If you decline shipping insurance, Totally Tubers Farm will not provide replacements, refunds, or coverage for any transit-related issues unless the damage or loss is clearly and provably our fault. Such cases will be reviewed individually.

Additionally, We do not assist with filing or processing third-party carrier claims (USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.). Buyers must handle any carrier claims directly.

 

Post-Delivery Care

Once a package is delivered and accepted, all responsibility for the tubers transfers to the buyer. We cannot guarantee viability or performance after delivery and are not liable for issues arising from:

  • Improper storage, planting, or care.

  • Rot, shriveling, pest infestation, disease, viruses, or environmental factors.

  • Failure to sprout due to local conditions.

 

All sales are final after 24 hours from documented delivery. No refunds, returns, or replacements will be issued for post-delivery issues.
